Shares of Somers Limited jumped $1.25, or 8.2 per cent, to $16.50 after 100 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

Also improving was One Communications, up five cents, or 1.7 per cent, to $2.95 after 800 shares were exchanged. In separate news, One reported it repurchased 5,769 of its common shares during July at an average price of $2.90 for immediate cancellation. This was done as part of the company’s repurchase programme.

On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank were down 41 cents, or 0.78 per cent, at $51.95.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up nine points, or 0.31 per cent, at 2,875.4, while the BSX Insurance Index edged down 0.8 of a point, or 0.04 per cent, at 1,853.69.
