A family-friendly event with a water theme is to be held today to launch Cup Match week.

Visitors will be able to learn about the ocean and Bermudian heritage at the Bermuda Adventure at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo on Monday.

The event, set up by community groups, will include free access to the marine side of the campus, a scavenger hunt, boat ride around Harrington Sound, games and food.

It was being organised by groups including BAMZ, Crossroads Football, Flatts Recreation, Imagine Bermuda, Somersfield Academy and St Patrick’s Church.

A spokesman said: “The goal is to leverage this season of recreation, promoting renewal — body, mind and spirit — for personal benefit and that of the entire community.”

The event will run from 6pm to 8pm. Another Bermuda Adventure will take place at Auto Solutions on August 9, from 5pm to 6.30pm, when people can explore the changing world of vehicles in the 21st century.
