Peugeot Bermuda’s charity drive

Two charities received a combined $5,100 after a fundraising initiative from Peugeot Bermuda.

The car dealership gave Peugeot owners the chance for a free service, usually worth $175, and encouraged them to make donations to Saving Children and Revealing Secrets and Friends of Hope.

It meant Peugeot Bermuda was able to hand over $3,100 to Scars and $2,000 to Friends of Hope.

The fundraiser was launched by Fernando and Sonja Oliveira, the managing directors at Peugeot Bermuda.

Debi Ray-Rivers, founder and executive director at Scars, said: “All of us have a role in protecting children in our community. Each sexual offence against a child creates a victim and destroys lives, the children and the family’s lives.

“It has affected our community in terms of relationships, health costs, and crime.

“The generosity of the Peugeot family allows Scars to continue offering our education and awareness programs to the adults in our community at no cost.”

Friends of Hope provide supports to the Dame Marjorie Bean Hope Academy and other groups which benefit children with special needs.
