Shares of Butterfield Bank were down 60 cents, or 1.25 per cent, at $47.37 on the New York Stock Exchange.

Meanwhile, there was no activity on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index, which closed unchanged at 2,729.84.

The BSX Insurance Index was up 9.8 points, or 0.54 per cent, at 1,838.59.

In a filing with the Bermuda Stock Exchange, Somers Limited said it purchased 10,700 of its own common shares during May at an average cost of $14.75 per share. The shares will be cancelled with immediate effect.
