The Salvation Army has appointed a new general in charge of the church worldwide.
Brian Peddle, who served for three years as territorial leader for Canada and Bermuda, was voted the 21st general of the organisation by the 2018 high council of the religious organisation last week.
Mr Peddle and his wife, Commissioner Rosalie Peddle, are from Newfoundland.
The Peddles have also served as Salvation Army territorial leaders in New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga.
