The road to universal adult suffrage in Bermuda will be explored at a panel discussion this week.

The Bermuda National Trust event will be held at the Chubb Building gallery on Thursday.

The talk, organised by insurance and reinsurance giant Chubb and the BNT, will explore the beginning of Constitutional Government in Bermuda in 1968.

The 50th anniversary of the first General Election under universal adult suffrage was marked on May 22.

The event will include speakers former premier Sir John Swan, former MP John Barritt, journalist Meredith Ebbin and former senator Arthur Hodgson.

Bill Zuill, executive director of the BNT, will be event moderator.

Wine and cheese will be served.

Donations will be accepted at the free event.

Attendees will also be able to view the Road to Democracy exhibition.

The exhibition is open to the public and runs until June 1.

The event starts at 6pm.
