Bermuda aim to bounce back
Bermuda goalscorer Teyah Lindo is confident the Lady Gombeys can rebound from their 2-2 draw against home side Guyana in the Concacaf Women’s Championship Qualifiers yesterday, when they take on Barbados tomorrow in Leonora.
“Once we got our communication and were playing faster, [we knew] we would be up there,” said Lindo, who scored both of Bermuda’s goals. “We are looking forward to the match on Friday against Barbados and hope to perform just as well as today — or even better.”
Coach Naquita Robinson said the draw “feels like a loss”, but is determined that the side will regroup against Barbados, who beat Surinam 2-1 in their opening game.
“So now we regroup,” Robinson said. “We’re still in it. Barbados leads the group right now. We play Barbados on Friday, so we need to have a good result.
“Their heads are down a bit; it feels like a loss, so it’s up to us to get them back going and get ready for Friday.”
