Axis Capital Holdings Ltd has named Matthew Rohrmann as its new head of investor relations.

He succeeds Linda Ventresca in the role. Ms Ventresca will now focus on her role as chief transformation officer, overseeing the Bermudian-based insurer and reinsurer’s enterprise-wide transformation programme.

Axis said Mr Rohrmann will lead Axis’s engagement with the investment community and communicate the company’s vision, strategy and financial story. He will report directly to Peter Vogt, chief financial officer, and will serve as a member of the company’s global finance leadership team.

Mr Rohrmann was most recently director of investor relations at American International Group, and previously associate director, investor relations, at Willis Towers Watson.

Mr Rohrmann is a chartered alternative investment analyst, who began his career as a financial analyst and served as senior research analyst for Nomura Securities and as senior vice-president, equity research, at Keefe, Bruyette and Woods.
