Senate Leader and Attorney General Kim Wilson secured victory for her party in Sandys South Central.Attorney General Wilson, replacing PLP stalwart Mr Walter Lister, as candidate for this constituency, topped the poll with 563 votes. Mr Lister has stood as a Sandys South PLP candidate since 1976, and the constituency has remained firmly in the PLP camp during that time.OBA candidate Ed Bailey, contesting the Sandys South Central constituency for the second time, in his first attempt as an OBA candidate won 257 votes. In previous years Mr Bailey stood for Sandys North as a UBP candidate.Said Ms Wilson: “It's been a really good canvas," and it had been particularly helpful to have Mr Lister as a companion."I've been received really well," she said. "People recognise, by and large, that what we're doing is helping all Bermudians, bringing all Bermudians forward."OBA candidate and veteran politician Mr Bailey said it had been one of the most stressful seasons of campaigning he could remember."We've seen so many people who are out of jobs," he said. "People who have opened up the fridge, and indicated that they can't feed the kids."Concern about the national debt had been a recurring theme among the constituents he'd spoken to.There were four spoiled ballots.
