Butterfield shares up 1.1%
Butterfield Bank shares rose by 50 cents, or 1.1 per cent, to close at $47.50 after 2,798 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.
Shares of Argus Group slipped by one cent, or 0.3 per cent, to $3.90 after 1,500 were exchanged, while Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd, publisher of The Royal Gazette, was down one cent, or 0.2 per cent, at $6.16 after 3,000 of its shares were traded.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index rose 22.27 points, or 0.85 per cent, to 2,644.14.
On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank were down 18 cents, or 0.37 per cent, at $48.06.
The BSX Insurance Index was down 36.79 points, or 1.96 per cent, at 1,839.73.
In a statement issued through the Bermuda Stock Exchange, BF&M Ltd announced it will continue its share buyback programme for a further 12 months. The programme enables the BF&M to repurchase up to 340,557 of its own shares.
