Shares of Ascendant Group, the parent of Belco, rose 50 cents, or 5 per cent, to $10.50 after 1,500 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

There was also trading in 1,000 shares of Watlington Waterworks, and 60 shares of Argus Group Holdings, but with no change to the closing price of either.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 4.82 points, or 0.18 per cent, at 2,649.5.

On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank were down 76 cents, or 1.55 per cent, at $48.34.

The BSX Insurance Index was up 6.14 points, or 0.33 per cent, at 1,890.54.
