Xmas tree collection

of St. George's, Hamilton, Smith's, Pembroke and Devonshire, tomorrow. The pick-up will not include Tee Street and Kent Avenue.

On Wednesday, January 19, the trees will be collected from Sandys, Southampton, Warwick, and Paget. Trees from Tee Street and Kent Avenue will be collected on this date.

All Christmas trees should be out for collection by 7.30 a.m.

For those residents who wish to dispose of the trees earlier, they may take them to the Marsh Folly Compost Facility Monday through Friday from 7.30 a.m.

to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7.30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

*** The president of one of the world's leading volunteer service organisations is on the Island for a world-wind visit.

Pilot International president, Diana Kingree arrived on Saturday for a four-day visit to Bermuda.

Mrs. Kingree, who lives in Florida, has been a Pilot Club member for 21 years.

As their name suggests, Pilot members lead, guide and soar to great heights in a bid to help people in need.

Members also combine their talents and resources to further programmes which benefit people affected by brain-related disorders.

The local chapter of the club meets each month at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dingy Club.

The Pilot Club was established in 1921 in Macon, Georgia, in a bid to improve the quality of life in communities throughout the world.

*** The Alliance Francais invites all to tomorrow's French film evening at the Daylesford Theatre (BMDS).

The 1996 film `Ponette', with Victoire Thivisoi and Marie Trintignant, will be show. The film has English subtitles.

Admission is $3 for members and $5 for non-members.

*** The Salvation Army, White Hill Home League invite all to a Tea Party and Fashion Show.

The event, which will take place on Saturday January 22 at St. James Church Hall from 3 to 6 p.m., will be an opportunity for good fellowship, food and fun.

Tickets are $10 and are available from any member of the Salvation Army White Hill Home League or Lieutenants Kellman at 234-0623.

*** Anyone interested in learning how to scuba dive will want to check out tomorrow's information session with the BSAC.

The session will be held at Admiralty House at 7 p.m.

*** The International American Women's Club invite all to check out their Millennium Fair.

The event will take place on January 19 at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There will be on-going demonstrations throughout the day which will include yoga, self-defence, flower arranging, makeovers and much more.

There will also be information tables on such topics as financial planning, children's education and travel.
