Bermuda have been drawn with Guyana, Barbados and Surinam in group E of the Concacaf Caribbean Women’s qualifiers, set to start on May 5.

The draw was made yesterday at the Concacaf headquarters in Miami, Florida and will see matches contested in two stages. The first stage of the regional qualifiers will see the 23 participating member associations put into three groups of five and two groups of four teams.

Bermuda’s matches will be played in Guyana with Dominican Republic, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago and Antigua playing host to the other groups. The home sides are top seeds in the five groups.

The final round of the Caribbean qualifying will take place from August 18-26, involving the first stage group winners, while the top three finishers of the final round will qualify for the 2018 Concacaf Women’s Championship when the United States will host the region’s top teams for the championship which will crown a regional champion and qualify three teams for the Fifa Women’s World Cup which is scheduled for France in 2019.

The Concacaf Championship is scheduled for October 4-17 at a venue still to be confirmed.
