Paul Bailie has been appointed head of Willis Towers Watson PLC’s Bermuda Captive practice.

Mr Bailie has worked in the captive insurance industry for 30 years, and has previously held a variety of leadership roles, including with JLT Insurance Management in Bermuda.

At Willis Towers Watson he will be responsible for business development and delivering the company’s “value proposition around designing, forming, managing and providing strategic guidance to Bermuda captive and insurance management clients”.

In a statement, the company said Mr Bailie will collaborate across the company’s global businesses and product lines, including alternative risk financing, Willis Towers Watson Securities and Risk & Analytics Services. He will report to Paul Owens, managing director, Willis Towers Watson Global Captive practice.
