Shares of Butterfield Bank were down 50 cents, or 1.1 per cent, at $45.50 after 3,300 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

On the New York Stock Exchange the bank’s shares were down 9 cents, or 0.2 per cent, at $45.61.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 22.49 points, or 0.87 per cent, at 2,561.75.

The BSX Insurance Index was down 24.05 points, or 1.28 per cent, at 1,849.64.
