Hamilton’s central bus terminal will only accept cash payments from Thursday, the Department of Public Transportation said today.

A spokesman said credit and debit card payments would be unavailable because work was needed on the service windows to install upgraded bank machines.

He added that the work was expected to last no more than one week and that people could still pay for passes, tickets and tokens with cash.

The spokesman said post offices and visitor information centres in St George’s and Dockyard would still accept debit and credit card payments.
