Police today made a fresh appeal for information to help them trace the owner of the dog found dead in the waters near Admiralty House Park.

A police spokesman said: “Detectives continue to follow all potential leads but so far, the identity of the dog’s owner is still unknown.”

The drowned animal was found by officers last Saturday after graphic images were posted on social media.
