David Burt and Lieutenant-Colonel David Burch, the Minister of Public Works, are travelling to Montego Bay in Jamaica this weekend to take part in the Caribbean Infrastructure Forum.

The event, which is hosted by KPMG and CIBC FirstCaribbean, opens on Monday morning with a welcome from conference chairman Nigel Holness, the managing director of the FirstCaribbean International Bank (Jamaica) Limited.

Audley Shaw, the Minister of Finance and Public Service for Jamaica, will then be the keynote speaker.

Mr Burt, the Premier, will participate in the Heads of Government panel discussion together with the Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands, Sharlene Cartwright-Robinson.

Meanwhile, Colonel Burch take part in a panel discussion on Tuesday afternoon. The panellists will discuss the topic of financing water, wastewater and irrigation projects: innovative funding solutions to support a revenue-challenged sector.

“The Caribbean Infrastructure Forum 2017 is an opportunity for Bermuda to share what we have done well and what we need to do more of to achieve greater infrastructure successes,” Mr Burt said.

“We will also have an opportunity to learn from others and network around the importance of infrastructure planning, financing and implementation.”

Mr Burt and Colonel Burch will join other Bermudian representatives at the forum from the Bermuda Airport Authority and the Bermuda Health Council.
