The Bermuda National Trust Christmas Walkabout, takes place tomorrow, December 5, and is an event that you and your family will not want to miss!

The old town will be buzzing with the sights and sounds of Christmas and this is one of the Trust?s most popular annual events.

?The Christmas Walkabout heralds in the festive season with a stroll through St. George?s. Members, friends and visitors are welcome,? said Amy Scott, development project manger for the National Trust.

?Many of the historic buildings and properties, beautifully decorated for the occasion, are open to the public free of charge. We hope all will enjoy the musical entertainment, dance performances, Christmas goodies and much more.?

Admission is free, and the festivities run from 6.30 to 8.30 p.m. so shake a leg and enjoy this exciting evening in St. George?s.

Performing with the Trust for the first time this year are the Jackson School of Performing Arts, In Motion School of Dance and the Saltus Jazz Band. Also performing at this venue is East End Primary School Choir and the Salvation Army Band.

Performing are Mount St. Agnes Glee Club, the Menuhin Youth Orchestra, Saltus Junior Choir, John York Skinner and Janet Budden, and Soprano, Marcelle Clamens accompanied by Lloyd Matthew.

In a new venue this year, The St. George?s Foundation will be serving their festive spirits, Hippocras (spiced red wine) and gingerbread in Buckingham. Also new is Steward Hayward with Catherine Campbell playing seasonal music on piano and recorder.

Andy Bermingham will be reading from his new book, out this November titled ?Bermuda?s Military Rarities?, and the Bermuda Stitchery Guild will again have a display and demonstration upstairs.

At Tucker House, Flautist Dr. Derek Tully will be playing with Mike Jones on guitar. The home will be beautifully decorated for the season and visitors are welcome to tour the archaeology exhibit downstairs.

Enjoy music by the Saltus Junior Recorder Group, and performing for the first time is Mitchell Trott doing tap dance.

Home of the National Trust?s Archaeology Lab will have findings from previous digs and will also be serving wine and cheese.

Visitors are welcome at this eclectic shop, located on York Street in the Perinchief building for beverages and nibbles and to enjoy the spectacular decorations. A classical guitar quartet will be performing part of the evening.

Once again the Friendship Garden Club, The Hibiscus Garden Club and the Garden Club of Bermuda are decorating Tucker House, Globe Hotel, the Old Rectory and Bridge House apartment.

Located in the Bank of Bermuda car park, members are welcome to seasonal refreshments and snacks. If you?re not already a member come in and join ($20 individual, $35 family, $5 student).
