Prospect Preschool will remain closed tomorrow and Tuesday as staff get the building ready for children after work to remove mould.

In a statement released this afternoon a Department of Education spokeswoman confirmed that mould abatement work had been completed last week.

She said staff would spend the first two days of the new week making the school ready for students to arrive on Wednesday morning.

“The Department of Education, sincerely apologises for any inconvenience to parents, however, the health and safety of the preschoolers as well as the staff has been our primary concern at this time of mould abatement work,” the spokeswoman added.

“We now look forward to the preschoolers returning on Wednesday to a clean and healthy school environment in which to work and play.”
