Trunomi wins Barclays Fintech Award
Bermudian-based start up Trunomi has been announced as the overall winner in the Barclays Fintech Awards.
The Fintech Award recognises companies in the ThinkRise community that are disrupting the financial industry.
Trunomi Founder and CEO Stuart Lacey said: “We’re thrilled to have won the Barclays Fintech Award, which is excellent validation of our consent and data rights management platform and our progress in market. We love our London Rise offices and are thriving in the facility.’’
Trunomi moved into the Barclays Rise London facility, the largest Fintech co-working space in Europe, in June 2017 to accommodate their growing team in London.
Think Rise is a global network of connected sites in seven of the world’s top Fintech ecosystems and delivers numerous programmes that facilitate rapid engagement between Barclays and the Rise community in order to solve some of the biggest challenges facing financial services.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore and KPMG Digital announced this month Trunomi participation as a finalist in Global Fintech Hackcelerator and Fintech Awards.
The Global Fintech Hackcelerator 2017 has identified the top-20 most exciting and innovative start-ups from all over the world to address problems faced by the financial industry.
MAS received 580 submissions from over 40 countries, from which 20 teams were shortlisted by a panel of industry judges. The entries were evaluated on relevance, competitive advantage, revenue, scalability, business stage, and team experience.
Trunomi will now participate in the 12-week programme, led by KPMG Digital Village, and work with Singaporean corporates, investors, partners and regulators to contextualise their data privacy enhancing consent and data rights management platform for the ASEAN market.
The programme will culminate in a Demo Day on November 16, 2017 during the Singapore Fintech Festival and Trunomi will be in line for $50,000 prize, to be announced on the Fintech Awards night.
Earlier this month Bermudian Chia Brewin, director of customer development for Trunomi, travelled to Singapore for the mid-programme check-in to participate in the Hackceletator events, meet with industry corporate mentors and MAS.
Mr Lacey said: “This programme has been fantastic support for Trunomi’s growth in Asia and globally and we look forward to continue working with MAS and demonstrating onstage at the largest fintech festival in the world.”
Trunomi, which is based in offices in New Venture House, Mill Creek Road, Pembroke, was founded in 2013.
It has created customer consent and data rights management technology which enables businesses to request, receive and capture customer consent to the use of their personal data.
