Tobacco Bay is to reopen to swimmers after levels of seawater bacteria dropped to normal.

The Ministry of Health said tests over the weekend had shown bacteria levels were within acceptable limits, but that Environmental Health scientists would continue to monitor the situation.

The beach was closed to swimmers and watersports last Wednesday.
