Police warning over burglaries

A Devonshire home was broken into and robbed of several watches.Police said the burglary happened at a Brimstone Hill residence between 8.45am and 10.10pm on Friday. Someone appears to have entered the house while the owners were away.In a separate incident Police received a report of a burglary at a Knapton Estates Road home, in Smith's.It appears a person entered the home sometime between 7.40am and 9.30am and stole a 27in Applemac computer and some jewellery.As a result of these burglaries and a wave of others during the week, the Police are continuing to urge the public to remain vigilant.A spokesman said: “All residents should make sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time.“Also, before retiring to bed at night all windows and doors should be locked with any valuables secured out of sight.“The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.”
