Cooney and Tucker join LOM board
Insurance veteran Robert Cooney and tourism industry veteran Dennis Tucker have been appointed as independent directors of LOM Financial Ltd.
The new recruits will serve on the boards of the investment firm’s three Bermuda-regulated subsidiaries.
Mr Cooney’s lengthy career in the Bermuda insurance industry includes a tenure as the chief executive officer of XL Insurance and as the founder of Max Capital. He is the managing director of Auréo Capital Ltd.
Mr Tucker has had a distinguished career within the Bermuda hotel industry, as well as serving in important public and charitable roles.
He serves as a Councillor for the City of Hamilton, as a Commissioner with the Bermuda Gaming Commission, and as CEO and Secretary to the Board of the Trustees of the Hotel Pension Trust Fund.
Other past positions include managing director of the Sonesta Beach Resort and his service in the Bermuda Senate.
He is a board member of the Bank of Bermuda Foundation, Bermuda’s largest philanthropic organisation.

At the same board meeting, Quinton Edness retired as a director of the Bermuda Stock Exchange-listed company after 11 years in the role.
