Nikki Bascome, the Bermuda boxer, will be hosting a school bag launch at Brown and Co Bookmart on Front Street tomorrow.

The bags, branded with Bascome’s Fresh & Hungry logo, will be given to the first 20 children who bring a list of the five things that inspire them the most.

The bags are worth $35 and will also be for sale.

Bascome, unbeaten after seven professional bouts, will be at Brown and Co from 12pm to 3pm.

“I’m just trying to show that school and education is important,” Bascome said. “The first 20 kids that come on Saturday, if they come with five goals written down about what inspires them, I’ll give them a free bag.

“Everybody will also get free pencils. The kids are going to have to earn the free bag by writing down their goals. If you don’t earn things, you don’t value them afterwards.”

Bascome will also be doing a back-to-school launch at People’s Pharmacy on Victoria Street next Saturday.
