A Google operations director has been appointed by PartnerRe Ltd to the new position of chief corporate and people operations officer.

Dorothée Burkel will be a member of PartnerRe’s executive management team, and have executive responsibility for human resources, communications, legal and internal audit.

Ms Burkel has 30 years of professional experience leading international and decentralised teams in the digital economy.

She worked at Google, where she held the position of people operations director for EMEA, since 2008.

Prior to joining Google, Ms Burkel was vice-president human resources and corporate communication for AOL France and vice-president brand and corporate communication for AOL Europe.

Ms Burkel’s appointment becomes effective on October 2 and she will be based in PartnerRe’s Paris office.
