A 28-year-old Pembroke man is in custody after police found a loaded 9mm pistol, a “large quantity of cash”, and suspected crack cocaine and cannabis.They were uncovered during a January 8 search of a residence in Pembroke.The investigation is being led by the Serious Crime and Drugs Unit.Police said a file will go to the Director of Public Prosecutions, which would make it the third firearms possession case before the courts already this year.On January 5, Kofi Dill, 31, and Thayja Simons, 22, were both brought before Magistrates’ Court, charged with handling a .38 revolver and with handling ammunition.And on January 7, Curtis Mallory, 20, appeared in Magistrates’ Court on two firearm charges relating to armed robberies that week.
