Shares of Bermuda Aviation Services jumped 70 cents to $2.45 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The increase, equal to 40 per cent, came after 6,000 shares traded.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the Bank of Butterfield shed 60 cents, or 1.73 per cent, to $34.01.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 3.25 points, or 0.16 per cent, at 2,044.85.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day down 1.57 points, or 0.08 per cent, at 1,924.53.
