Reggae king Levy is back

People get ready: just a week remains for reggae king Barrington Levy’s Bermuda comeback.

Two years on from kicking off Cup Match with trademark energy, Levy will bring dancehall and the detour posse next Saturday to the West End — plus a host of Bermuda bands. Ecstatic promoter Andrew Phillips can’t wait to see the feel-good factor kick in with the reggae star’s Vice Versa Love before the mix of locals and America’s Cup guests.

“Wherever you go, it’s a call to unity; whenever crowds hear it, they hold hands and sway — it brings people together. Whoever you are, you just reach out for the other person’s hand. It’s really beautiful.”

Levy “loves Bermuda and always has a strong reception here”, Mr Phillips added. Also playing next Saturday at Snorkel Park is a range of locals that the promoter calls “my mix of bands — it’s like a live mix tape, and it’s going to make the show incredible”. Tickets for the show at Snorkel Park are “flying off the shelves”: tickets are $40 in advance or $60 at the gate, and available at www.ptix.bm, as well as Jamaican Grill, 27th Century Boutique, Kit N Caboodle, Caesar’s Pharmacy and Snorkel Park. Additional VIP tickets are $125. Gates open at Snorkel Park at 8pm.
