BHB names Swainson hotel services manager
Bermuda Hospitals Board yesterday announced the appointment of Bermudian Jerome Swainson to the position of hotel services manager, effective yesterday. The position is responsible for Environmental Services (Housekeeping), Food Services and Laundry at Bermuda Hospitals Board. Mr Swainson will report to the chief operating officer (KEMH), Susan Labus.Mr Swainson’s experience encompasses hotel operations, restaurants and guest relations. He joins BHB from the Tucker’s Point Hotel and Spa Hotel where he was assistant manager/guest services manager, responsible for the daily Front of House operations. Mr Swainson’s prior experience also includes eight years at the Fairmont Southampton Bermuda as director of resort activities, three years as guest services manager at the Canadian Pacific Fairmont Southampton, two years as general manager at Kids and Other Services and 14 years as assistant general manager at the Mid-Ocean Club.Mrs Labus said: “Our hotel services are such an important part of the patient experience at the hospitals. They might not be a clinical service, but from the food you eat, to the cleanliness of your room and linens, they touch every patient and visitor to our facility.“It is an area we have been focusing on based on patient feedback, and it is vital we get it right in order to achieve our vision to be the first choice for health and wellness. Mr Swainson is a highly qualified and welcome addition to the team.”
