A winner on and off the water
Selley, the president of Bermuda Marine Supply and Services, Ltd. definitely falls into this category, for boats and the ocean have always been his passion.
His father, Colin Selley, currently a partner and director of the company, encouraged Craig at the age of 12 to enter into an apprenticeship with Musson Wainwright at the Pitts Bay Boat Company. In 1974, he became involved in power boat racing, working first as a mechanic with the pit crew, and later as a driver for the locally-famed "727'', the only boat ever to win the round the Island Power boat Race five years consecutively.
In 1980, aged only 24 but with 12 years of experience and three wins in Bermuda's most prestigious powerboat race behind him, he opened his own marine service business. With his racing reputation as his springboard, the business was instantly successful. Further wins in 1981 and 1982 consolidated his success, and put him in the record books at the same time.
Since then, he has never looked back. The business expanded to incorporate a sales department carrying a complete line of boats, engines and accessories.
His family rolled their sleeves up to help him. His wife, Tina, is a director and his sister, Linda Down, is the sales manager.
The company holds the dealership for OMC, Cobra Sterndrives and is exclusive dealer in Bermuda for Evinrude. A complete line of boats -Donzi, Chris Craft and the top-of-the-line S-2 Yachts (including Tiara Sports, Tiara Yachts and Pursuit fishing boats) is available.
A customising service is available for all these craft to perfectly adapt them to your needs.
Craig Selley.
