the Peoples Pharmacy. Owned and managed by a father and daughter team, the whole business is family-operated. Ms Donna Pearman first decided to open a pharmacy in 1983 but when casting about for a likely partner, she found she needed to look no further than to her own father, Mr. Norris Pearman. She persuaded him into retirement from his job. And Donna's mother, Mrs. Ilis Pearman and her two sisters, Mrs. Venetta Symonds and Mrs. Marva Allen and their husbands made up the remaining shareholders. Donna's cousin and fellow pharmacist, Ms Aleathea Todd, was also asked to join the original staff of five. Over the past ten years, Ms Pearman says the whole family has helped keep the business going.
