Sweet stakes
she won a gorgeous five-carat diamond tennis bracelet in a late-night shopping raffle held at E.R. Aubrey. "It was a total shock to me,'' she said. "I was speechless, so at first they didn't think I was there. But I finally spoke up.'' A week after her win, Ms Sweeting, a 32-year-old front desk receptionist at Cambridge Beaches, had taken the bracelet off just once, and only for a brief moment. "It is just so beautiful,'' she explained. At the time of her win, Ms Sweeting had only recently joined the ranks of loyal E.R. Aubrey customers, thanks to a couple of positive experiences at the store. She dropped by in order to treat herself to an early Christmas present -- a gold chain -- and was urged by the saleslady to stop by during the evening of shopping to look for gifts for others on her Christmas list. "So I did, and found something really nice for my Mom. Her birthstone is emerald, and I found her an emerald brooch in the shape of a bee, and emerald and gold earrings to match.'' A generous gift indeed, but Ms Sweeting isn't worried. "When you shop at E.R. Aubrey, it's easy to be generous, because the prices are so good.
