Meeting regularly since last September, the Committee has organised what is sure to be an unforgettable day of fun, entertainment and reflection.
With the permission and cooperation of their department heads, the Committee members are: US Customs: Steven Vogelhaupt, Lorraine Kennedy, Richard Bishop (Treasurer) US Immigration: Ann Hobert Bermuda Police: John Dale (Chairman, Co-ordinator) Bermuda Customs: Tracy Sherrieff (Secretary), Terry Burgess Bermuda Immigration: Alan Bean Bermuda Prisons: Alan Richardson Fire Service: Anthony Caisey National Drug Commission: Michael Stowe, Althea Overby US Naval Air Station: Peter Dean Airlines/Airline Services: Judy Roberts, Colworth Furbert The aim of the Committee is to bring people of all ages and all walks of life in Bermuda to show their support for the war against drugs.
Now a registered charity, the Committee has opened accounts at the Bank of Bermuda and the Bank of Butterfield. Although Saturday's event is not a fund-raiser, any proceeds from Drug Awareness Day will go the Council Partners, an organisation comprised of six local drug-related charities.
