Smith will arguably be Bermuda's best hope of a medal with the long jumper insisting a podium position is a realistic target.The 27-year-old has certainly improved since he failed to make the finals at the Beijing Olympics four years ago.In 2010 he become only second Bermudian athlete after Nicky Saunders to claim a gold medal at the CAC Games held in Puerto Rico.Smith's personal best jump of 8.22 metres at that event saw him selected to the Americas squad for the Continental Cup.So far this year the Houston-based athlete has struggled to consistently break the eight-metre mark but will be hoping to end the season with a flourish in London.
