He loved people; cared and was a man of wise counsel and prayer.Pastor Denwiddie added: “My dad was a loving father and we appreciate the upbringing and spiritual guidance that he gave us. His prayers, understanding and good example of living he has passed down to us and we are passing down to our children and our grandchildren. He was a hardworking, sacrificial dad, fun loving and a disciplinarian.”Former Premier Dr Ewart Brown in his tribute related how Bishop Dickenson came into his life 60 years ago, held his hand and molded his mind as his Sunday School teacher at Flatts Pentecostal Church.“His enthusiasm and clarity impacted me immediately and I went to Sunday School mainly to hear what he had to say and to sing “V is for Victory” as loud as I could,” he said.”Shortly after I came back to Bermuda to practise medicine, Bishop Dickenson became my patient and we established a different kind of relationship.“However he was still the same kind and gentle whose clear mind amazed me to the end. He was a unique man who taught by example and never lost focus.”
