A poem in dedication to Mr Gospel
This poem dedicated to ‘Mr Gospel’ Kelly Zuill on the occasion of the celebration of the Golden Anniversary of his Radio Program was written by Mrs Erlor E Dean, a graduate of Ottawa Teachers’ College and Wheelock College in Boston. She taught in the Bermuda Education systems forty years before retiring in 2003Brother Calvert Alfred ‘Kelly’ ZuillWhen you began this programme in 1963, who knew how enjoyable this venture would be?You’ve played a multitude of requests, and sent out hundreds of congratulationsTo so many people, young and old, all across this nation. When folks lost loved ones you were there with a comforting songEncouraging them to look to God and to continue to be strong. When you learned of young folks who were receiving awards or commendationsYou were always ready to hold an “On-Air” celebration. You have been an ENCOURAGER like no other, to that “downhearted “ sister or that “insecure” brother. The trip to Buckingham Palace to be honoured by the QueenWas certainly an occasion that was blissful and serene. There is NO ONE around who can walk in your shoesNo matter what type of work ethic they choose.Your love and compassion have been accepted and held dearAnd will continue to be cherished year after year.Your service to the community has given us a reason to celebrateAnd that is why it is imperative to applaud and to congratulate. Our lives have been enriched by all that you have shared,And we know that God will bless you and keep you in His care.Erlor E.
