Tennis doubles teams in semi-finals
Bermuda have two doubles teams in the each of the men’s and women’s tennis semi-finals after outstanding performances.Top men’s seeds Jensen Bascome and Gavin Manders advanced after beating Guernsey pair Nico and Pieter Robinson 6-3, 6-2.They will be joined in the semi-finals by David Thomas and Neal Towlson who also won comfortably 6-4, 6-1 against Menorca pair Aitor Catchot-Sites and Carlos Previ-Aliano.The Bermuda teams have avoided each other in the semis, with Bascome and Manders taking on Scott Clayton and James Connelly, while Thomas and Towlson will play Guernsey’s Dominic McLuskey and Patrick Ogier.In the women’s doubles, sisters Tara and Jacklyn Lambert are through to the semis after beating Whitfield and Whitwell of Gibraltar 6-1, 6-4, while Erika Bove and Tyler Smith advanced as the expense of Menorca’s Laura Moreno-Hernandez and Sandra Moll-Andreu whom they beat easily 6-1, 6-2.Also into today’s semi finals are Isle of Man’s Faragher and Tinkler and Aland’s Nordlund and Ringbom.
