A film highlighting the life of one of the world’s most beloved reggae stars will premiere at Liberty Theatre tomorrow.‘Marley’ will celebrate the life of musical legend Bob Marley, well known for such hits as ‘Redemption Song’ and ‘One Love’. He died in 1981.Tickets for the event also allow entry to a cocktail reception and an after-party.“We are doing this because this is a movie about a legend and an icon who went through struggles but paved the way for reggae music,” said event organisers Janson Cross and Arthur ‘Smooth’ Godwin. “Also, this movie is a great movie for Bermuda especially in these times. It gives people a chance to relax on a Friday and watch the epic adventure of the great Bob Marley.”‘Marley’ was directed by Scottish filmmaker Kevin MacDonald.In an interview with BBC news, he said: “The amazing thing about it is that it is so accessible, his music, and yet it has got all this message — this sense of rebellion and edginess and anti-establishment feeling about it.”Mr MacDonald won an Oscar for his documentary ‘One Day in September’, about the murder of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympics in Munich.
