Last Bermuda School of Music’s lunchtime concert before summer break is today
Bermuda School of Music faculty members are to hold a lunchtime concert today.On offer is a menu of classical piano, guitar and violin music which they will perform at Wesley Methodist Church in Hamilton.Piano instructor Zacc Rodwell will play three short pieces from the Romantic era.Guitar instructor Jerremiah Smith will perform two pieces: ‘Capricho Arabe’ by Spanish composer and virtuoso guitarist Francisco Tarrega, and ‘Natalia’ by popular Venezuelan composer Antonio Lauro.Piano instructor Oliver Grant will play three works by Chopin: Waltz in C# minor, Opus 6 No. 2, Nocturne in D flat, Opus 2 No. 27, and Étude in C minor Opus 10. No. 12 (Revolutionary)The concert will conclude with violin instructor Laura Appert Springham’s performance of JS Bach’s Prelude from the Suite No 3.This will be the final presentation in the Bermuda School of Music’s popular lunchtime concert series before the summer break.The programme will begin at 12 noon, and admission is free. However, donations will be gratefully received for the music school’s Bursary Fund, which provides free tuition to students who otherwise could not afford lessons.
