Butterfield buys back $1.65m worth of shares

Butterfield Bank bought back 45,000 shares on the Bermuda Stock Exchange in February.

Butterfield Bank repurchased 45,000 common shares on the Bermuda Stock Exchange in February, the bank said.

In a filing with the BSX, the bank said the shares were bought for an average price of $36.63, valuing the purchases at about $1.65 million.

On Friday, Butterfield shares traded down $1.50 or 4.1 per cent to $35 on volume of 23,218 shares.
