Butterfield and Clarien banks have advised that due to Hurricane Lee, they will be closing at 2pm Thursday and anticipate re-opening noon Friday.

Butterfield said it would close all banking centres in Bermuda and due to hurricane preparations, some ATM’s would be temporarily unavailable from noon, including Collector’s Hill, Modern Mart, Somerset MarketPlace and Somerset Banking Centre.

A spokesperson encouraged residents to stay safe and advised clients that they would be able to use Butterfield Online in addition to contacting the call centre.

Clarien said the closure was for the safety and security of clients and employees and the Friday re-opening would be pending a facility safety inspection.

Clarien clients are encouraged to use Clarien iBank where possible to complete online transactions. The bank said wire cut off time on Thursday is noon.
