In the opening game of the inaugural Elite City League season BHCS defeated Robin Hood 44 43 at Somersfield Academy on Saturday night.D’Mitri Butterfield led BHCS in the scoring department with 14 points, while John Lee grabbed five points for Robin Hood.In the night’s other game, Team Three beat Sea Venture 46 - 43.Dean Jones scored 13 points for Team Three, while Steven Simons scored 18 points for Sea Venture.On Monday night, also at Somersfield Academy, BHCS overcame Young Men’s Social Club 61-59. Chae Powell scored 20 points for BHCS and current national team player Chris Crumpler bagged 23 for YMSC.Also on Monday, Island Construction also beat Robin Hood 70-62 with Ryan Rabain hitting 18 points, Dave Middleton scored 11 for Hood.Bermuda Basketball Association (BBA) set up the new winter league to be held over a six-week period prior to the Premier Basketball League (PBL).
