Terence Dill is enjoying his first year at the helm of the Buffalo Warriors, having claimed their first major scalp of the early Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League (ACPBL) campaign.Dill and fellow Buffalo-based player Franklin Jackson are in their first season in the front office of the team, who have a 1-3 record in the league after the first four rounds of action.The 24-year-old played for Buffalo Stampede in the ACPBL last season but has put his playing career on hold after forming the Warriors.Their opening day game was a 112-75 loss the to Hudson Valley Kingz.The side currently sit in second place in the North Division, with the Hartford Lightning topping the standings with their unbeaten record.Encouragingly for Dill, Warriors’ sole victory of the season came against defending champion Garden State Rebels.“Things are looking good this early in the season,” said Dill. “We have taken a couple of losses but we have looked at our mistakes and hope to correct them throughout the rest of the season.“The game we won was actually against last seasons champs, and we have found a few guys that are committed to being role models on and off the court.“It’s a rough road to pursue like I have said in the past but the higher the obstacle, the sweeter the success is once we clear it.”Although winning games and filling stadiums is the overall goal, Dill made clear that the intentions of his staff is to go beyond the lines of the basketball court, and help the communities in both Buffalo and Bermuda.Dill is also looking into establishing an indoor soccer league for both men and women.Looking to branch out in the near future, the Bermuda international wants to add other sports to his collection.“Our main objective in Buffalo is to show the community that there are still positive young men trying to make a difference in Buffalo through sports,” he said.“I want to bridge the gap between Bermuda sports and the professional ranks of the United States, not just with basketball but also with football.“We are starting a professional indoor soccer league for men and women.”“Buffalo, Detroit, Cleveland, New York City, and Rochester have signed up and we are looking to have a few more teams come into the fold.“We have lots of events that are being planned out for the year including a few in Bermuda involving a few different sports.“Hopefully we can help as many young men and women reach their dreams of one day becoming a professional athlete.”
