Utilities hit hardest

Utilities was the hardest hit sector on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) last week.KeyTech Ltd. fell 10.9 percent (75 cents) to $6.15, with 1,000 shares traded, while the Ascendant Group Ltd. was also down 0.1 percent (one cent) at $14.99, as 1,100 shares changed hands.Watlington Waterworks Ltd. meanwhile rose 10 percent ($1) to $11, with 2,000 shares transacted.Elsewhere Butterfield Bank’s common shares dropped four percent (five cents) to close at $1.20 and its preference shares declined 0.4 percent ($5) to $1,220, with 36,820 and 76 shares traded respectively.Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. also decreased 5.6 percent (75 cents) to $12.75, as 200 shares changed hands.BF&M Ltd. transacted 200 shares to close down 0.4 percent (five cents) at $12.75.Overall the Index slipped 10.62 points (0.95 percent) to 1,117.21, with 42,520 shares worth BD$111,075 and 1,090 shares worth US$103,541 traded.The BSX Insurance Index, however, climbed two points (0.2 percent) to 1,021.
