Argus climbs 3.7%

The Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) Index climbed 1.2 percent last week, driven by increases in the share prices of Butterfield Bank and Argus Group Holdings Ltd.Butterfield climbed three cents, or 2.4 percent, during the week to close on $1.29, as 34,000 shares changed hands.The bank’s preference shares also saw trading activity, with 115 being exchanged, as the price remained unchanged $1,250.Argus was the biggest climber of the week, rising 15 cents, or 3.75 percent, to $4.98, as 2,400 shares were exchanged.Another insurer, BF&M Ltd, was the the one issue to fall on the BSX, dipping 50 cents, or 3.3 percent, to finish Friday on $14.50, after 3.019 of its shares traded.The Index closed the week up 14.14 points, or 1.23 percent, at 1,149.67.Share volume topped 43,300, while turnover was more than $286,000.
