Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd advanced nearly six percent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading yesterday.

The parent company of The Royal Gazette, which also owns various retail, real estate and commercial printing interests, gained 50 cents to close on $9, as 600 shares traded.

Butterfield Bank preference shares, which remained on $1,182 as 12 shares changed, were the only others to see trading activity.

The Royal Gazette / BSX Index closed at 1,161.62, up 0.58 of a point, or 0.05 percent. Volume totalled 612 shares and turnover was $19.583.99.

The BSX Insurance Index enjoyed a sharp gain, climbing 22.01 points, or 1.54 percent, to close on 1,453.27.
