BF&M climbs 0.5%

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index inched a fraction of a point higher, helped by an increase in the share price of BF&M Ltd.
The insurer rose nine cents, or 0.5 percent, to close the day’s trading on $16.60.
Butterfield Bank’s eight percent preference shares were the only other gainers, advancing $2, or 0.17 percent, to close on $1,188.
Argus Group and Somers traded 7,000 shares and 8,000 shares respectively, but their share prices remained unchanged.
The index rose 0.62 of a point, or 0.05 percent, to end the day’s trading at 1,198.51.
Volume was 18,310 shares and turnover topped $177,000.
The BSX Insurance Index fell 3.48 points, or 0.25 percent, to close on 1,400.47.
