Shares of Ascendant Group Ltd gained more than three percent in light trading on the Bermuda Stock Exchange today.

The owner of electricity provider Belco, gained 25 cents, or 3.1 percent, on the trading of 100 shares.

The only other domestic-board company to trade was Watlington Waterworks Ltd, which remained unchanged on $16.25 as 1,200 shares changed hands.

A total of 2,427 shares of international bank HSBC Holdings also traded on the BSX.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index gained 2.17 points, or 0.15 percent, to close on 1,421.13.

Volume of shares traded totalled 3,727, while turnover topped $45,000.

The BSX Insurance Index fell 4.81 points, or 0.33 percent, to close on 1,442.56.
