Ascendant hits 52-week low
Ascendant Group Ltd fell more than four percent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading today to hit a new 52-week low.
The owner of electricity company Belco, which last week reported a sharp fall in earnings, slid 25 cents, or 4.2 percent, to close on $5.75.
It was also a negative trading day for insurance stocks, with both BF&M Ltd and Argus Group Holdings Ltd falling.
BF&M shed 50 cents, or 2.7 percent, to close on $18, as 2,662 shares traded. Argus fell five cents, or 1.3 percent, to $3.95, as 70,000 shares changed hands.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 6.5 points, or 0.47 percent, to close on 1,383.46.
Volume was 78,762 shares, while turnover totalled $346,546.80.
The BSX Insurance Index surged 13.78 points, or 0.95 percent, to close on 1,469.93.
